Ya know what sort of annoys me?? That crossfitters and yogis all unite over their obsession with healthy food. They each are pretty commonly Team Paleo and Team Ayurvedic Diet.... while runners are kinda left scratching their heads.
Are we "Team Pasta Party But Carbs Are Bad So I Should Be Fat Adapted But What Does That Even Mean"?? I don't know about you, but that doesn't sound like a fun party.
Seriously though, you guys, runners need to up their game!! Food is a SECRET weapon just waiting to be tapped into. All the pros have their 'ish together and understand that eating a certain way will fight inflammation to help us recover faster, run faster and harder, and be the fittest version we can be.
I changed my diet to stop mid-run gastrointestinal issues. I changed my diet to STOP feeling starving during training. I changed my diet and ran 4 BQ Marathons and developed a fueling strategy to run a 1:29 half marathon. Guys, I did all this while working full time, commuting, and seeing private clients (I was also caring for my sick grandma then too). Changing your diet doesn't take a lot of time, it just takes some knowledge.
