Gauge Life Protein Review

First things first, I received free product in exchange for my honest review. However, you should know, I receive a lot of free products and you don't hear me ever raving about 'em. Why? Because I only recommend the very best to you guys. You trust me and that means everything to me.

So when I tell you that I am super impressed by the Gauge Life Protein line, I really really mean it.

I am officially obsessed (you guys know I love dramatic statements) and am super excited about the flavor, macro profile and ingredients of Gauge Life Protein.

Let's talk about it!

I've written before about how I am a big fan of collagen peptides for athletes & for those of us who are into-lookin-30-forevah. So of course, I was super excited to try Gauge Life's line of collagen hydrolyzed protein. Gauge Life's Collagen Peptides are soy free, dairy free, lactose free, gluten free and derived from grass fed cows.

Sooo my fave way to get my daily dose of collagen is to mix it with coffee. Collagen is great because it mixes well and is flavorless, so you can add it to anything. Your oatmeal, your coffee, your smoothie or your soup. Whatevs. But since I drink coffee daily and aim to take collagen peptides daily, the system works really well for me.

Most days I drink iced coffee. I found that Gauge Life's Prime Collagen Peptides mix similarly to Vital Protein's brand of collagen peptides.

Here's the trick to mixing collagen peptides, ya gotta mix it into a warm beverage. When mixed into warm liquid, it dissolves COMPLETELY (just take a look at that lovely Ryan Gosling mug!).

However, if you're stubborn like I am and prefer to mix it straight into ice cold coffee, then expect a little bit of clump-age.

Whatever. Its the price I pay to drink collagen in my iced coffee! Although, you could pour well mixed collagen coffee over ice for a clump free cold brew!

Either way, collagen is fantastic for us runners because it may help our achey knees rebuild cartilage and aid in our recovery. I'll take a cup o' dat!

Now, I love collagen because I know its good for me, but it doesn't add a whole lotta anything to my life. Its basically tasteless, so while I know it boosts the nutritional value of my coffee, my tastebuds kinda don't care.

Gauge Life Chocolate Whey Protein on the other hand?? Welllll, this stuff tantalizes my tastebuds. I can safely say that since trying the chocolate protein powder less than a week ago, I have been craving it on the daily. Chocolate protein shakes? Yes, please. Chocolate Peanut Butter Protein Truffles? Yep, I need that.

I loveeee this brand!

And here's why. Ugh, I have so many things I want to tell you. Let's make a list.

  1. It's high in protein and low in carbs - So many protein powders are loaded with calories from carbs!! Guys, carbs are CHEAP. The calories in your protein powder should be coming from PROTEIN. Gauge Life has 24 grams of protein per scoop, 1 gram of fat and 2 grams of carb.

  2. Its made from whey protein isolate - Did you know whey protein has the highest satiety of any other protein? That means it will keep you fuller longer than any other protein. Prettyyyy dope. Plus, whey protein isolate is practically lactose-free, so many people who cannot tolerate dairy have no issue tolerating whey protein isolate.

  3. It tastes SO good - I don't know about you, but other brands of chocolate protein powder have left me wanting .... chocolate. Likeeee, I needed a side of chocolate with my chocolate protein powder, ya know what I mean? I don't have that problem with Gauge Life's line! The flavor is SO good that extra chocolate stevia drops are NOT necessary.

Okay, so what do we doooo with all of this delicious protein powder? Obvi, you can be boring and just mix into some oat milk for a post-workout snack (protein from the powder and carbs from the oat milk), or you can get creative and satisfy that sweet tooth!!

I'm kind of obsessed with sipping Chocolate Chip Protein Shakes before bed while watching Bachelor In Paradise on Hulu (just bein' honest!)

And since I'm heading to Italy next week, I already have a batch of Chocolate Peanut Protein Truffles wrapped and ready for my plane ride. If you're tired of spending $3 per protein bar, then you def need my easy recipe for Chocolate Peanut Protein Truffles. Rich in nutrient dense carbs and loaded with whey protein, these Protein Truffles will help you crush your next workout. I'm kind of obsessed with popping one or two of them before a hard workout. Nothing is better than convenient, delicious, protein packed chocolate :)

You can grab both of these recipes by clicking here. I'll send them right to your inbox so you can save 'em for later. Both take less than 5 minutes to whip up and will sweeten your day. YUM.

ANYWAY, Gauge Life is def my new fave protein brand. I'll be recommending this brand in my upcoming Eat like an Athlete Bootcamp because it truly is the yummiest, highest quality protein I've ever tried. Hope you guys love it as much as I do. Lemme know if you give it a try!
